Day 1: Train Board Uttarbanga Express/Any suitable train from Sealdah Railway Station. |
Day 2: NJP Railway Station - Maneybhanjyang - Dhotrey (117 kms/5-6 hrs) Arrive at NJP Railway Station and proceed to Dhotrey via Maneybhanjyang. Check into hotel. Dhotrey or Dhotre is a small Himalayan village located within the buffer zone of Singalila National Park in Darjeeling district of West Bengal. It is belonging to Eastern Himalaya with majestic view of Mt. Kanchenjunga range. Evening Free, Overnight at Dhotrey (8,500 ft.). |
Day 3: Dhotrey - Rimbick - Srikhola (50 kms/3-4 hrs) Today proceed to Srikhola via Rimbick Bazar, There is a river at Srikhola by the same name, There is no bridge over the river Srikhola. Check in and after lunch visit Timburrey Village by littile trek. Evening Free, Overnight at Srikhola (6,500 ft.). |
Day 4: Srikhola - Manebhanjyang - Tumling Today back to Maneybhanjyang (Gateway of Singalila National Park and Main Land Rover Taxi Stand). Book Land Rover Association's Car and proceed upto Tumling by Reserved Land Rover Association's Car via Chtre (There is an old Buddhist Monastery at Chitrey, You will pass by the monastery), Maghma ( There is a monastery at the entrance of Meghma), Lamaydhura (This is another small village located at the border of India and Nepal), Tonglu (10,150 ft. there is a lovely view point which is more like an open field. From the edge of this area you get magnificent views of the Kanchenjunga snow peaks). Check into hotel, Overnight at Tumling (9,600 ft.) |
Day 5: Tumling - Sandakphu (19 kms/2 hrs) Today's Destination is Sandakphu. Check out from hotel and proceed to Sandakphu by Reserved Land Rover Association's Car via Gairibas (10,000 ft.), Kalapokhri (10,400 ft. Kalapokhri is so named because of a pond or a water tank filled with black water) and Bikheybhanjyang (10,920 ft.). From Bikheybhanjyang, This motorable route Last 4 kms from Bikheybhanjyang to Sandakphu is very steep and narrow, And now the final destination and the climax. You could see the Sandakphu Peak from Kalipokhri itself. From Bikhheybhanjang the climb up to Sandakphu is the steepest. Sandakphu is the place from where you get a 180 degree panoramic vista of some of the highest and most beautiful peaks of the world, right from Nepal all the way up to Arunachal. Some of the greatest peaks include the Mt Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Chomolhari, Pandim, Three Sisters, Kumbhakarna etc. Check into hotel and overnight at Sandakphu (11,929 ft.). |
Day 6: Sandakphu - Phalut - Sandakphu (21 kms/One way) After breakfast, Proceed upto Phalut (11,811 ft.) via Sabarkum by Reserved Land Rover Association's Car. Phalut is the second highest peak of West Bengal, India. Part of the Singalila Ridge in the Himalayas, it is located at the border of the Indian states of West Bengal and Sikkim and of Nepal. It is located inside the Singalila National Park. Back and Overnight at Sandakphu (11,929 ft.). |
Day 7: Sandakphu - Maneybhanjyang - NJP Railway Station (122 kms/6-7 hrs) After breakfast drop to Maneybhanjyang by (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) Reserved Land Rover Association's Car. Drop to NJP Railway Station for Train. |
Day 8: Return Reach Sealdah Railway Station in the morning. |
