Kinnaur, Chitkul and Kaza Tour Overview

Kinnaur district is one of the twelve administrative districts of the state of Himachal Pradesh in northern India. The district is divided into three administrative areas: Kalpa, Nichar and Pooh. The administrative headquarters of the district is at Reckong Peo.The Lahaul and Spiti district in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh consists of the two formerly separate districts of Lahaul and Spiti. The present administrative center is Kyelong in Lahaul. Before the two districts were merged, Kardang was the capital of Lahaul, and Dhankar the capital of Spiti.

Kinnaur, Chitkul and Kaza Tour Itinerary

Day 1:

Kalka / Chandigarh Railway Station - Sarahan

Pick up from Kalka/Chandigrah and Drop to Sarahan.The town Sarahan is known as the gate way of Kinnar. On the way visit Bhimkali temple. Check into hotel. Dinner and Overnight at Sarahan (7,598 ft.).

Day 2:

Sarahan - Kalpa

After breakfast start for Kalpa, It is located at the base of the Kinnaur Kailash. The Shivling peaks rise up to 6,000 meters (20,000 ft), also visit Recong peo. Check into hotel. Dinner and Overnight at Kalpa (9,711 ft.).

Day 3:

Kalpa Sightseeing

After breakfast visit Kamru Fort, Suicide Point, Kothi Chandalika Temple and Buddhist Temple. Back to Hotel, Dinner and Overnight at Kalpa.

Day 4:

Kalpa - Sangla

After breakfast start for Sangla. Sangla is a major town in the Baspa Valley, also referred to as the Sangla valley, close to the Tibetan border. On the way visit Jeori, Karcham,Tapri. Check into hotel. Dinner and Overnight at Sangla.

Day 5:

Sangla - Chitkul - Sangla

After breakfast visit Chitkul. Chitkul is the last village near the Indo-Tibet border. Half day visit Chitkul. Back and Dinner, Overnight at Sangla.

Day 6:

Sangla - Tabo

After breakfast drop to Nako/Tabo, Nako/Tabo is small town in the Spiti distric on the banks of Spiti River.On the way visit Nako Lake and Nako monestry. Check into hotel. Dinner and Overnight at Nako/Tabo.

Day 7:

Nako/Tabo - Kaza

After breakfast drop to Kaza. On the way visit Tabo monestry, Dhankar monestry, Kaza monestry. Check into hotel. Dinner and Overnight at Kaza (11,980 ft.).

Day 8:

Kaza Sightseeing

After breakfast visit Key Gompha, Kibber Monastery, Komic Village, Lamza Village, Hikkim Village. Back to hotel, Dinner and Overnight at Kaza.

Day 9:

Kaza - Keylong

After early breakfast strat for Keylong via Kumzum pass, Chandra Taal Lake (Lake of the Moon), is situated at an altitude of 14,100 ft. There is also (14 kms) from Kunzum pass. In evening reach Keylong. Check into hotel. Dinner and Overnight at Keylong (10,100 ft.).
